Gobbling Up A New Breed Of Burger

Usually I'm a purest. Especially when it comes to the beloved Hamburger. No need for Foie Gras in the center of my all-beef patty -- just beef, beef and more beef.

But now a neighborhood health food joint has turned my opinion around. Siggy's Good Food on Henry Street, an organic pit stop for Wheatgrass, Soy Tofu Fingers and such, has an incredible, eyes-roll-back-into-your-head with pleasure Turkey Burger that almost makes me think about forgoing the real red meat deal -- almost.

This meaty beauty, unlike it's usual Turkey Burger brethren that remind me more of styrofoam than anything edible, is bewitchingly juicy and flavorful, sitting atop a light and airy brioche bun. From what I can gather, the secret recipe from Siggy's Israeli chef-owner includes curry powder and tumeric. Considering the way it makes me want to come back for more, I wouldn't be surprised if crack cocaine was an ingredient as well.

Then again, is there such a thing as organic crack cocaine?
