Water, Water Everywhere
There's nothing like discovering a theme to an evening. But, on Thursday night, I was just a little slow on the uptake.
It started innocently enough with a Titanic cocktail at Joseph's with colleagues.
Then, I headed to Atlantic Avenue to pay call on the infamous longshoreman bar Montero's. (See - I kept my promise.) Disappointingly, not one of the patrons seemed so much a salty dog, as a neighborhood drunk. And albeit a great dive, Montero's selection of potato chips wasn't really gonna cut it for dinner.
So I journeyed further up Atlantic to plant my ass at another bar - this time at the Waterfront Ale House, where I partook of their Brooklyn Restaurant Week menu and enjoyed a glass of Leffe Brown, as I chatted with one of the house's favorite bartenders and mine, Mary.
As I nibbled my dinner of Thai Cod Cakes and Jerk Pork Chop with Applesauce, I oddly didn't find my Leffe terribly appealing. For some reason, I was much more drawn to my obligatory glass of water avec lime.
And to think, I had a hard time figuring out the evening's theme until I got home.
