A Taste of Italia in Soho
I know you were expecting the first of several travelogue postings. Sorry to upset, but I had no choice. After three-weeks on the road, I had copious amounts of mail piled up - and one very special envelope contained a gift from the vino gods - an invite to this year's Tre Bicchieri event at the Puck Building in New York's Soho.
The date? Tonight.
An evening of gorgeous Italian wines accompanied by gorgeous Italian men? I couldn't resist. Heck, even a mean case of jet-lag couldn't keep me away.
I wasn't disappointed. From a juicy, ruby red, fruit-forward Montapulciano d'Abruzzo from Villa Medoro to a deep cherry, earthy, honest Chianti from Deltetto, the event held its own in the wine-department. The Armani-clad gents held their own as well. (If only one of them had held me too!)
Was it just as good as being in Italy itself? Well, not quite.
Besides a captivating Italian signore did hold me in Roma!
But you'll have to wait for my actual travel postings for more info on that topic...And, I do PROMISE to embark upon my Paris adventures tomorrow. Rome and Milan will shortly follow.
Va bene!
