How to Save a Bad Day
This most certainly was nowhere near the worst day I've ever had. But, admittedly, it just wasn't a good one. Work kinda sucked. I felt scattered. My disposition was confirmed by an increased blood pressure reading at my doctor's office late this afternoon.
I sought solace in dinner. I craved risotto - creamy, rich and ever so slightly decadent. I stirred and stirred. And, eventually, Wild Mushroom Risotto with Ricotta appeared on my plate. Alongside, I sliced up some Heirloom Tomato, sprinkled with Kosher Salt. Alongside that, my neighbor Henry to swap "single in New York" stories.
Suddenly, today wasn't so bad. Forget "rose-colored glasses." I'm partial to "risotto-colored glasses."
